Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire NOW STREAMING on Disney+!

I had the tremendous pleasure of doing the storyboards for Enkai written and directed by Ng'endo Mukii. Reading her script won me over and gave me an inkling that it would be something really special to be a part of. But I had no idea how much the final film would blow me away and it was extra special being able to catch it on the big screen at Annecy Animation Festival 2023. Thank you Blink Industries, Triggerfish Animation and Disney EMEA. I'm forever grateful to have been a part of the talent that created this film, and the wider talent that makes up this rocking anthology!

Just a few shout outs and thanks to:

Assistant Director/CG Lead Dorianne Fibleuil, Art Director Camille Perrin and Animation Director Klaas-Harm de Boer, amazing, talented leads whose work inspired me to push my storyboarding to the next level.

Thank you Julia Helou for your gorgeous clean up work on storyboards and Dan Hamman for some storyboard work that helped me meet a deadline!

Thanks to Animatic Editor Simon Bullen and Assistant Animatic Editor, Christina Conradi. It was always a relief to see my boards working and really helpful to have your feedback and help with problem solving the visual storytelling.

Thank you to our incredibly supportive and efficient production team: Producer Ellen Collins, Production Manager Emma Hanson, Senior Production Co-ordinator Roisin Larkin, Production Co-ordinators Anna Fitzsimons and Ayoola Solarin and Production Assistant Henri Holz. Thank you also for letting me sneak in a preview of the stop-motion shoot, that was so incredible to see!

And thank you to the rest of the Enkai team, some of whom I never met (because I was too early in the pipeline). I absolutely loved what we've delivered.

An extra special thanks to Patrick Brennecke who brought me onto the team and giving me a chance to do something a little different to what I've done before! Thank you also to Blink Industries Studio Executives, Benjamin Lole and James Stevenson Bretton.

Please watch and share so we can have more stunning original projects and see more from the awesome directors of Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire!

Annecy 2023

I’ll be at Annecy Festival this year! Not long now. Please say hi if you see me around! You might spot me first because I don’t usually wear glasses… even if I should. If I’m more than 2m away and I’m squinting hard at you, you know why.

Teaching at The Animation Workshop 2023

Last year, I had the absolute pleasure of teaching the Portfolio Module of The Animation Workshop’s Storyboard course in Viborg, Denmark!

That deserves a post in its own, the students were absolutely amazing! I’m in a bit rush now but will write up a nice blog post about that during my upcoming break…

Meanwhile, just a quick announcement to say that I’ve been invited back this year in November! I can’t wait to be back and meet some more fabulous talent. Here’s the info page: THE ANIMATION WORKSHOP > STORYBOARD

Toon Boom Interview (Dead End Paranormal Park)

Last year I was part of a team interview by Toon Boom representing the crew from Dead End Paranormal Park where I spoke a lot about our story team’s process.

Blink Industries on Animating Horror-Comedy on Dead End: Paranormal Park

I also wrote a bunch of twitter threads exploring behind the scenes for creating some of the storyboard sequences I created. Find them below!

WIP: Kikko Beatboards

These are beatboards that I created during my Fall 2021 Women in Animation Mentorship Circle, “Growing Your Story Career” with Tamara Lusher.

I hope to revisit the story, do some character designs and vehicle designs and perhaps flesh out a small section of the storyboard in order to make a pitch. But meanwhile, here’s a WIP!

Archiving: Space Nova CG Storyboard Sample

Another one for the blog archive.

CG SERIES SAMPLE : SPACE NOVA (2021)

The Nova family decide that it's time to take a family (space) vacation from their wild adventures.

Storyboard sample from Space Nova Season 1 Episode 18 "Shore Leave" by SLR Productions which aired on ABC ME in August 2021. This storyboard was supervised by Episodic Director, Gie Santos.

New Website Blog

Trying a new thing: I’d like to post news and updates on a blog directly to my website. I’ll be using this blog to post WIPs, old storyboard sequences I’m retiring from my portfolio and any career news.

For now I wanted to show a WIP of a storyboard portfolio piece I’m working on. Still loads of clean up to do but hopefully will be done in a couple weeks of my spare time. It’s one of my favourite assignments from a storyboard class I did in late 2022 with Rejean Bourdages—Adapting the nursery rhyme “Jack and Jill” to a genre (I picked film noir or rather neo noir since it’s set in the 90s).
